Week of October 1st

Hello Pugh Tribe!

Happy Fall! I hope everyone had a restful Fall Break. I am excited to have everyone back in the classroom today. Here is what we are focusing on this week in Math and Reading.

Math: We are focusing on fact families to build on our Multiplication and Division curriculum. We are using arrays to show the correlation between 3 numbers that make up a fact family.

Reading: Today we began our focus on Character Traits and will be continuing this focus for the week in relation to applying the terms we have learned to help us better understand the characters in our books.

Homework Folder: Our 3rd grade team is finalizing the October Homework Calendar this afternoon. That being said, homework folders will be sent home tomorrow.

Spelling Words: We are starting spelling tests this week to help support spelling in the classroom. The spelling words are found in the right column of their agenda and in their take home folder on a practice page. There are Class Dojo point rewards for completing the practice page and turning it in on Friday.

Thank you for all that you do at home to help support and reinforce the learning at school.

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! Happy Warm-Hearted Wednesday ! We have had a very busy week so I apologize for just now posting. Here is a look at the rest of the week. Math: We have been continuing our unit on area. We will be practicing through tomorrow and assessing on Friday to show our understanding of area and how we use dimensions to solve for area. Week of February 25th

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! I hope you all had a restful Winter Break. We had a great first day back yesterday! Here is a look into what is happening in the Pugh Tribe this week. Math: We were introduced to line plots yesterday and will continue line plots through most of the week. Week of January 14th

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe! Its been a few weeks since my last blog post. I hope you all had a very restful weekend. We are beginning a lot of exciting new units in 3rd grade this week. Here is a look into what we will be learning over the next few weeks. Math: We began fractions last week by taking a look at key vocabulary such as numerator and denominator. From there, we moved into what a unit fraction is and how to partition shapes to represent unit fractions. This week, we will be building off of unit fractions and looking at partitioning number lines to represent fractions.
