Week of October 22nd

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe! 

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you for coming last week to meet with me and review your child's performance in Quarter 1. I have enjoyed teaching your children and learning from them each and everyday. As for this week, I am excited for all of the festivities we have coming up in the Warrior Nation. Just a few things I want to share with you all:

Math: We will continue practicing our multiplication strategies. Along with these strategies, we will be looking at multiplying one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10. Here is a Learnzillion video for you to refer to.

Reading: The students have been doing a great job with identifying the main idea and supporting details in a passage. We will continue to practice this and begin looking at nonfiction text more. Don't forget to read 15 minutes each night!

Spelling: We have been doing very well with our Spelling Tests so far this year. We will have another spelling test this Friday. Here are the words for the week:

Character Parade: This Friday, we will be the book The Cat in the Hat. Please make sure your child wears a red shirt and red pants or jeans to school. If you want to spray their hair blue or send them with a blue wig, that would be awesome! This will help build up more participation and there are judges this year to find the best book characters. Thank you in advance for your support. If you would like to come and partake in the festivities, you are invited to come around 9:45-10:00. Following the parade, we will be doing a Literacy lesson in the classroom. I would love to see you all on Friday.

Red Ribbon Week: This week is Red Ribbon Week, we will be promoting a drug free lifestyle with some fun themed days. I have attached the flyer from our Guidance Counselors for you to note. It is also written in their agendas.

It is going to be a great week in the Pugh Tribe!

Week of February 25th

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! I hope you all had a restful Winter Break. We had a great first day back yesterday! Here is a look into what is happening in the Pugh Tribe this week. Math: We were introduced to line plots yesterday and will continue line plots through most of the week. Week of January 14th

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe! Its been a few weeks since my last blog post. I hope you all had a very restful weekend. We are beginning a lot of exciting new units in 3rd grade this week. Here is a look into what we will be learning over the next few weeks. Math: We began fractions last week by taking a look at key vocabulary such as numerator and denominator. From there, we moved into what a unit fraction is and how to partition shapes to represent unit fractions. This week, we will be building off of unit fractions and looking at partitioning number lines to represent fractions.
