Week of February 25th

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! I hope you all had a restful Winter Break. We had a great first day back yesterday! Here is a look into what is happening in the Pugh Tribe this week. Math: We were introduced to line plots yesterday and will continue line plots through most of the week. Week of February 4th

Good Afternoon Pugh Tribe!  I hope you have all had a great weekend. Super Bowl Sunday was an exciting day with it being in Atlanta! Here is a look into what we will be doing in the Pugh Tribe this week. Math: We are finishing up fractions today and will be assessing our understanding of fractions tomorrow. We have a big STEM day on Wednesday so we will be introducing telling time on Thursday. Reading: This week, we will be looking at comparing and contrasting story elements. During Reading Groups, I will be working with students on different strategies to help improve our understanding of higher level texts. Field Trip: We have had a lot of permission slips turned in and I want to encourage those who have not had it filled out to bring it signed and complete by Friday. Don't forget the deadline is the 13th! Spelling: We are going to continue spelling words through the rest of the school year. The word pattern that we are following this week will be ending in -ed. Week of October 1st

Hello Pugh Tribe! Happy Fall! I hope everyone had a restful Fall Break. I am excited to have everyone back in the classroom today. Here is what we are focusing on this week in Math and Reading. Math: We are focusing on fact families to build on our Multiplication and Division curriculum. We are using arrays to show the correlation between 3 numbers that make up a fact family. Reading: Today we began our focus on Character Traits and will be continuing this focus for the week in relation to applying the terms we have learned to help us better understand the characters in our books. Homework Folder: Our 3rd grade team is finalizing the October Homework Calendar this afternoon. That being said, homework folders will be sent home tomorrow. Spelling Words: We are starting spelling tests this week to help support spelling in the classroom.
