Week of February 5th

Hello Pugh Tribe!

I hope you all are having a great start to a new week! We will begin our Math and Reading lessons in our coaches books. These books have similar questions to the Milestones that we will be taking this year. The students have shown a lot of growth and I am excited to see how they challenge themselves with the problems we complete in class.

Our math homework this week is a two page progress check on comprehension for equal parts and math vocabulary. As usual, the students will be expected to read at least 30 minutes each day and log it on their agenda. We also have new spelling words for this week and they are key vocabulary and commonly misspelled words that have been noted in our classes writing assignments. They are: friend, through, people, spelling, enough, because, although, Massachusetts, Connecticut, colonies. 

 The spelling test will be this Friday! Please make sure your student is using the Spelling Word practice sheet throughout the week.

We will be having a 15 minute valentine exchange on Valentines Day right before dismissal per our principal's request.

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! Happy Warm-Hearted Wednesday ! We have had a very busy week so I apologize for just now posting. Here is a look at the rest of the week. Week of February 25th

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! I hope you all had a restful Winter Break. We had a great first day back yesterday! Here is a look into what is happening in the Pugh Tribe this week. Math: We were introduced to line plots yesterday and will continue line plots through most of the week. Week of January 14th

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe! Its been a few weeks since my last blog post. I hope you all had a very restful weekend. We are beginning a lot of exciting new units in 3rd grade this week. Here is a look into what we will be learning over the next few weeks. Math: We began fractions last week by taking a look at key vocabulary such as numerator and denominator. From there, we moved into what a unit fraction is and how to partition shapes to represent unit fractions. This week, we will be building off of unit fractions and looking at partitioning number lines to represent fractions.
