Week of August 20th

Good Afternoon Pugh Tribe!

We are off to a great start this Marvelous Monday! Just a few things that I want to let you know.

Math: We are finishing the properties of addition and are moving into understanding place value and rounding. Here is a video that relates to rounding. https://learnzillion.com/lesson_plans/6243-round-to-the-nearest-ten-or-hundred-in-real-world-situations/

Reading: We are focusing on asking and answering questions as readers to check our understanding of the text. I want to encourage each and every student to read 15-20 minutes every night. Don't forget to log your reading in your agenda on the bottom of each day!

Agendas: Students are responsible for coloring their agenda each afternoon as they pack up. If they are below green (Ready to Learn), I will color their agenda and initial the color. I have taped mini behavior charts in the front of each student agenda for your reference with the colors.

Open House: I am excited for this Thursday. We will look at an outline for the school year as well as some of the online resources you can be using at home. There are two different times for you to attend. Session 1: 6:00-6:30 and Session 2: 6:45-7:15. 

 Weekly Work Packet: Every other week, I will be sending home your student's work in a packet for you to read over and sign and return. This way, you are able to see your students performance and I can reference the work for review if need be. The first one that will be sent home is this Friday! If you could read over the work and send back signed on Monday.

**Also, do not forget to wear spirit wear on Friday. If you do not own spirit wear, you may wear orange or blue!

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! Happy Warm-Hearted Wednesday ! We have had a very busy week so I apologize for just now posting. Here is a look at the rest of the week. Week of February 25th

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! I hope you all had a restful Winter Break. We had a great first day back yesterday! Here is a look into what is happening in the Pugh Tribe this week. Math: We were introduced to line plots yesterday and will continue line plots through most of the week. Week of January 14th

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe! Its been a few weeks since my last blog post. I hope you all had a very restful weekend. We are beginning a lot of exciting new units in 3rd grade this week. Here is a look into what we will be learning over the next few weeks. Math: We began fractions last week by taking a look at key vocabulary such as numerator and denominator. From there, we moved into what a unit fraction is and how to partition shapes to represent unit fractions. This week, we will be building off of unit fractions and looking at partitioning number lines to represent fractions.
