Week of August 6th

Hello Pugh Tribe!

I am excited to get the blog up and running again. We are off to a great start in the Pugh Tribe this Monday! We have been doing some Writing and Reading today and I am excited to get the ball rolling on Math tomorrow. We will begin diving into our curriculum on Wednesday.

After talking with the 3rd grade teachers, we have decided to create an interactive reading notebook this year. That being said, we will need an additional COMPOSITION book. If you could send this additional composition book with your student no later than Friday, I would greatly appreciate it.

Starting next week, I will be sharing videos with examples of the strategies we will be learning in Math as well as a homework sheet that will have a few problems for every day of the week. These homework sheets will be due Friday. However, we will go over the problems assigned for the night before to clarify any misconceptions.

Last note I have for this weeks blog is about a community event happening tomorrow. Cobb County Police Department will be hosting a National Night Out from 5-9pm at Jim Miller Park. It is a FREE event to the public and I want to encourage all of you to try and make it out there. It sounds like a lot of fun!

Thank you for all of your support with getting forms filled out and bringing in the school supplies. I am excited for all that we will be learning this year in 3rd Grade!

Week of February 25th

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! I hope you all had a restful Winter Break. We had a great first day back yesterday! Here is a look into what is happening in the Pugh Tribe this week. Math: We were introduced to line plots yesterday and will continue line plots through most of the week. Week of January 14th

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe! Its been a few weeks since my last blog post. I hope you all had a very restful weekend. We are beginning a lot of exciting new units in 3rd grade this week. Here is a look into what we will be learning over the next few weeks. Math: We began fractions last week by taking a look at key vocabulary such as numerator and denominator. From there, we moved into what a unit fraction is and how to partition shapes to represent unit fractions. This week, we will be building off of unit fractions and looking at partitioning number lines to represent fractions.
