Week of November 12th
Good Morning Pugh Tribe!
Happy Warm-Hearted Wednesday! We have had a very busy week so I apologize for just now posting. Here is a look at the rest of the week.
Math: We have been continuing our unit on area. We will be practicing through tomorrow and assessing on Friday to show our understanding of area and how we use dimensions to solve for area.
Reading: Today and through the rest of the week, we will be looking at comparing and contrasting topics in a nonfiction text to show our understanding of the text.
Spelling: We have new spelling words that are in your student's agenda. I want to encourage them to practice these common high frequency words and be ready to test on Friday.
Weekly Work Packets: **Please pay very close attention to this section. I sent home a weekly work packet yesterday. Please review their work with them and sign and return no later than tomorrow. On Friday I will be sending home all of the Quarter 1 Weekly Work Packets for you to KEEP at home.
Progress Reports: On Friday, your student will be receiving 2 copies of their progress report. One is for you to keep at home and one needs to be signed and returned no later than Wednesday, November 28th.
Learning Garden: We owe a lot of gratitude to our wonderful Target and AT&T volunteers who helped us out on Wednesday to create an amazing learning garden. I am excited to begin using it once the weather allows us to. This will tie in very well with our focus on soils!
Holiday Party: As of right now, our holiday party will be December 17th. As I get more information, I will let you know!
Book Fair: We will continue to have our book fair through this Friday. If you would like your student to go purchase some books, remember you can do e-wallet or cash. NO CHECKS. I will send them up during our independent reading time in the morning.
Please comment under this blog post to show me that you have read it through. I want to ensure that all parents have been informed of the Weekly Work Packets information as well as the Progress Reports protocol. Thank you again for all that you do at home to support your students learning.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break!
