Week of November 5th

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe!

It was a great weekend for the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide! We have a lot of exciting things happening this week in the Pugh Tribe. Here is a layout for the week:

Math: We will be introducing a new topic this week...AREA. I am very excited to start our unit on area and connect that to the multiplication we have been learning in class.

Reading: This week in Reading we will be reviewing asking and answering questions to show our comprehension of the text. This time, we will be applying this standard to nonfiction texts. It will be a great week for reading!

Spelling: I am so proud of the hard-work our class has put into practicing their spelling words each week. This will be our last week of spelling words for the next few weeks. This is due in part to the other grammar focuses such as prefixes/suffixes and verbs that we need to cover for each day during the next few weeks. Here are the 15 spelling words:
  1. lock
  2. odd
  3. crop
  4. shock
  5. knob
  6. slot
  7. note
  8. vote
  9. joke
  10. smoke
  11. hope
  12. move
  13. gone
  14. some
  15. home
The Big Dig: On Wednesday, we will be participating in the Big Dig for our outdoor learning garden!!!! All students should be at school so they can experience helping to finish planting and crafting in the garden. It will be a very busy day with learning and going out to help over 100 volunteers from AT&T and Target.

Weekly Work Packets: Last Friday I sent home the second Weekly Work Packet from this quarter, please make sure you review your students work with them and sign and return to school by Wednesday.

Student Holiday: Don't forget tomorrow we do not have school. Go out and VOTE! Enjoy the day off students!

I believe that is all I have for this week.

Have a Marvelous Monday,

~Ms. Pugh
