Week of March 25th
Happy Monday Pugh Tribe!
I hope you all had a great weekend in the beautiful weather. We are almost to Spring Break...4 more days! I want to encourage everyone in the Pugh Tribe to be present and on time each and every day this week. Here are some notes and updates as we look into the schedule for this week.
Math: The students have done a phenomenal job with our introduction to Polygons. We will continue this unit through the rest of the week. We have discussed angles and sides and how that helps to identify what kind of polygon it is.
Reading: We finished distinguishing point of view last week and that leads us into comparing and contrasting two texts. We will analyze the texts themes, plot, setting, and characters using charts and Venn diagrams.
Report Cards: Thank you to those who have signed and returned the envelope. If you have not signed it yet, please sign and return the envelope, the report card is your copy to keep!
Weekly Work Packets: When the report card envelopes are returned, I will be sending all of the Weekly Work Packets from Q3 home to stay at home.
Homework: The students have a Reading Homework to complete this week. I also want to encourage students to get on Xtra Math or practice their multiplication facts with flashcards. One of the standards I assess them on this quarter is their ability to state products of two one-digit facts by memory. They will have their 1 minute timed multiplication test every Friday.
Spring Break: I will be sending home a 2 sided Math worksheet and a Reading Homework on Friday for students to complete over the break. This is optional, I will reward students with 2 Class Dojo points for each page that is completed.
End of Grade Milestones: We will be taking the Milestones over a period of 2 weeks. The dates for English Language Arts (ELA) will be April 16th, 17th, and 18th. The dates for the Math sections are April 24th and 25th. Please mark these dates in your calendars. Lets make sure we are all here on these 5 days so that no one has to makeup any of the sections. I have some activities planned for after we have tested and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on these activities because of makeups.
I believe that is all that I have for this week. Let me know if you have any questions via email, katherine.pugh@cobbk12.org.
Have a Marvelous Monday!
