Week of March 4th
Happy Monday!
We have a great week ahead of us! Here is a look into what we will be doing this week.
Math: Today, the students took a pre-assessment for perimeter and word problems. We will begin perimeter tomorrow and continue through Friday. The following week, we will be doing word problems to finish out the quarter.
Reading: This week, we are looking at standard RI.2 which is identifying the main idea in an informational text. We had a great first lesson and will be building on that information throughout the rest of the week. In grammar, we are looking at using commas in addresses and using context clues to find the meaning of unknown words or words with multiple meanings.
Picture Day: Tomorrow at 9:10 am we will be taking our class picture. Make sure to send in the form or I believe there is a way to pay online!
Social Studies Test: Tomorrow, we will be taking an assessment on the Age of Discovery including all of the European Explorers that we have learned about. We complete a study guide on Thursday to utilize in preparation as well as reviewed in class. Today, the students worked around the room completing task cards using some of the same vocabulary they will see tomorrow on their assessment. I have encouraged all of them to look over the study guide tonight.
