Good Morning!

   Hope you all enjoyed an extended weekend. I am glad to have everyone back in the classroom today. Due to COGAT testing, we will not have math homework. However, I am still encouraging students to read between 20-30 minutes each night and log it on their Reading Log. If students would like to practice multiplication, they are able to use XTRA Math for the additional practice.
    I have enjoyed seeing what your students have read at home and building that personal reading stamina is great! I have attached the September newsletter which will also be in your students take home folder this afternoon. Have a great rest of the week.

Open House

Welcome Back Acworth Families!       I am looking forward to what this year has in store for the Pugh Tribe. I want to introduce myself to all of the new third grade families, my name is Katherine Pugh. It is my third year teaching here and I am so excited to be a part of the warrior family. This blog will be updated every Monday that we are in school and I encourage you to take a few minutes to read through the information highlighted for the week. Week of October 1st

Hello Pugh Tribe! Happy Fall! I hope everyone had a restful Fall Break. I am excited to have everyone back in the classroom today. Here is what we are focusing on this week in Math and Reading. Math: We are focusing on fact families to build on our Multiplication and Division curriculum. We are using arrays to show the correlation between 3 numbers that make up a fact family. Reading: Today we began our focus on Character Traits and will be continuing this focus for the week in relation to applying the terms we have learned to help us better understand the characters in our books. Homework Folder: Our 3rd grade team is finalizing the October Homework Calendar this afternoon. That being said, homework folders will be sent home tomorrow. Spelling Words: We are starting spelling tests this week to help support spelling in the classroom.
