Week of February 26th

Good Afternoon Pugh Tribe! I am so happy to have all of your smiling faces back in the classroom today! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful Winter Break. We are getting back into the groove of things here in the classroom. For math homework this week it will be a few problems each day and we will go over it the following morning. Parents, please remind your student to write their name on their homework. It is hard to find the owner of each piece of homework when their name is not on it. This week we are reviewing picture graphs and line plots. This will lead us into finding the similarities and differences between a line plot and a ruler. For reading homework, we will be reading 30 minutes each night and recording it in our agendas. Speaking of reading, our class will be completing the RI tomorrow morning and the MI Thursday morning. Make sure you get a lot of sleep tonight! Friday is Read Across America! We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday as well!!! We get to wear s

Progress Reports

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! Progress Reports are going home today with your student. They need to be returned to school with your student on Monday. I have provided an incentive of 5 class dojo points for each student that returns it on Monday! I am also sending home the 2nd quarter homework packets. These are yours to keep at home. From here on, the homework packets will have a pastel green parent signature page. We changed the color for the 3rd quarter so that we could send home the 2nd quarter packets for you to keep. If you have any questions. Please do not hesitate to email me at katherine.pugh@cobbk12.org Have a great weekend, Ms. Pugh

Week of February 5th

Hello Pugh Tribe! I hope you all are having a great start to a new week! We will begin our Math and Reading lessons in our coaches books. These books have similar questions to the Milestones that we will be taking this year. The students have shown a lot of growth and I am excited to see how they challenge themselves with the problems we complete in class. Our math homework this week is a two page progress check on comprehension for equal parts and math vocabulary. As usual, the students will be expected to read at least 30 minutes each day and log it on their agenda. We also have new spelling words for this week and they are key vocabulary and commonly misspelled words that have been noted in our classes writing assignments. They are: friend, through, people, spelling, enough, because, although, Massachusetts, Connecticut, colonies.  The spelling test will be this Friday! Please make sure your student is using the Spelling Word practice sheet throughout the week. We will be ha
