Week of October 29th

Good Morning Pugh Tribe! Sorry for the late post. I hope you all had a wonderful Monday! Here is a few announcements for the week. Math: We have been learning about the Distributive Property of Multiplication. We will be continuing this concentration through Friday. Reading: Please continue to read 15 minutes each night. I want to encourage you all to choose a nonfiction text to read so that we can become experts on different topics. Tomorrow remember to wear closed toed shoes for our outside activity. Spelling: New spelling words are in your student's agenda, we will be completing the Spelling Practice page today, our printers were not responding in the building yesterday. Spelling test will be this Friday. Thursday: We will be having some visitors in the school to observe how our school is doing with STEM. Happy Monday Pugh Tribe!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you for coming last week to meet with me and review your child's performance in Quarter 1. I have enjoyed teaching your children and learning from them each and everyday. As for this week, I am excited for all of the festivities we have coming up in the Warrior Nation. Just a few things I want to share with you all: Math: We will continue practicing our multiplication strategies. Along with these strategies, we will be looking at multiplying one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10. Good Afternoon Pugh Tribe! I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful Monday. Here is an outline of the week for the Pugh Tribe. Math: We will continue to review the arrays strategy for solving multiplication problems. I showed the students a learn zillion video to review this strategy. This will lead into the opportunity to read both fiction chapter books and nonfiction texts during our independent reading time in class. Good Afternoon Pugh Tribe! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Here is what we will be doing this week: Math: We will be finishing up multiplication and division for the quarter and lead into focusing more on two-step word problems. This will lead us into our focus for the next couple of weeks. Reading: We will be looking at citing text evidence to help answer questions to show comprehension. Don't forget to log your reading in your agenda each night! Early Release : Just a reminder, we will be having early release this Thursday at 12:30. Conference Week: If you have not already confirmed your conference time with me, please sign your students form in their Take Home Folder and send back to school at your earliest convenience. Week of October 1st

Hello Pugh Tribe! Happy Fall! I hope everyone had a restful Fall Break. I am excited to have everyone back in the classroom today. Here is what we are focusing on this week in Math and Reading. Math: We are focusing on fact families to build on our Multiplication and Division curriculum. We are using arrays to show the correlation between 3 numbers that make up a fact family. Reading: Today we began our focus on Character Traits and will be continuing this focus for the week in relation to applying the terms we have learned to help us better understand the characters in our books. Homework Folder: Our 3rd grade team is finalizing the October Homework Calendar this afternoon. That being said, homework folders will be sent home tomorrow. Spelling Words: We are starting spelling tests this week to help support spelling in the classroom. The spelling words are found in the right column of their agenda and in their take home folder on a practice page. There are Class Dojo point
