Week of August 26th

Happy Monday Pugh Tribe!

We have had a very productive day today and I am excited to continue that energy through the rest of the week. Here is a look into what we will be learning about and doing in the Pugh Tribe this week.

Math: Today I introduced 2-step word problems. This was just an introduction into how to solve them. We will be taking a word problems assessment on Thursday to evaluate whether the class knows how to solve word problems that have two steps. Friday we will take our unit assessment on addition/subtraction and word problems to evaluate where the students are with these standards.

Reading: We are continuing to learn and use new strategies to check our understanding of the books that we are reading in class. Today we practiced finding the meaning for tricky words in our chapter books. I am very impressed with this group of young scholars and how they move over tricky words!

S.O.A.R. Pep Rally: Tomorrow afternoon we will be attending a SOAR pep rally to learn all about safety from our bus drivers and Cobb County officials who will be giving us some rules and advice to follow.

Early Release: This Wednesday, August 28th is an early release day. Please make the appropriate changes as students will be released at 12:30.

PTA: A yellow note went home in the take home folders yesterday. If we have every family signed up for PTA, we get a free field trip to Sparkles as a class. Please take a couple of minutes to signup on the website or by hand as soon as possible!

I believe that is all that I have for this week.

Have a Marvelous Monday!

-Ms.Pugh
